The Museum of Cardiff is inviting families to enjoy a series of free, family-friendly activities this October half-term as part of the Welsh Museums Festival 2026.
Taking place from 24 October to 1 November, the festival celebrates museums across Wales, with this year’s theme encouraging visitors to embrace a more sustainable approach to Halloween.
Visitors to the Museum of Cardiff can pick up a spooky free “Halloween and Hwyl” activity booklet packed with puzzles and activities, as well as take part in a range of free events throughout the week.
Highlights include a family screening of Disney/Pixar's animated robot adventure Wall-E on 26 October, a drop-in craft session where children can create their own spooky decorations on 28 October, and a chance to use recycled materials to delve into the world of zine making with Flossy & Boo on 29 October.
Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Jennifer Burke, said: "The activities happening this half-term alongside interactive exhibitions exploring the stories that help make Cardiff the city we know and love today, make for another fantastic reason to pay the Museum of Cardiff a visit.”
All activities are free to attend, with most offered on a drop-in basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
